After serving as the firm’s lead consumer collections attorney in the state of Ohio for several years, David was named its practice group chair in 2021. As chair, David oversees and mentors the business unit’s attorneys and support staff. Additionally, he also serves as chair of the Education Loan Recovery and Litigation Group, providing lenders, servicers, and guarantors of student loans with a comprehensive national recovery solution for all their education-related debt. Whether they wish to initiate traditional collection strategies such as call and letter programs, or pursue litigation, David counsels his clients on the most effective recovery methods.
An active member of the student lending community, David has presented on dozens of occasions for industry-leading organizations, on topics including compliance and regulations, bankruptcy law and educational loans, litigation collections, and risk management. David is AV® Preeminent™ Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, its highest available rating for legal ability and professional ethics. He has also been included in multiple editions of the Ohio Super Lawyers List (2010, 2012-17).
In his free time, David enjoys cooking a variety of cuisines with his family, traveling, and supporting the Cleveland sports teams.
