After acquiring over 25 years of experience in the creditors' rights industry, it’s safe to say that Geoff has learned a few things along the way. When clients approach him with a bankruptcy or real estate default matter, they are universally confident in his proven track record and his ability to efficiently resolve any matter they send his way – regardless of its complexity.
Geoff demonstrates his outstanding work ethic on a daily basis, providing strategic comprehensive solutions to collection and bankruptcy managers, as well as chief executive officers, lenders, and presidents for larger commercial matters. He strives to look beyond the obvious issue at hand, to foresee potential concerns and resolve them before they even arise.
Geoff has successfully represented both secured and unsecured lenders in mid and large chapter 11 proceedings across the country. Whether it includes confirmation hearings, workouts, auctioning of business, credit bids, or even transactional work – Geoff helps his clients recover their money in the most efficient way possible.
In a particular chapter 11 case he recalls, Geoff represented a bank that was not intimately familiar with the bankruptcy recovery process. After offering a thorough explanation of the procedures and necessary pleadings relevant to their case, he was able to address their questions and ease any concerns. With a greater understanding of the end goal, his client invested more trust in their partnership, which allowed Geoff to help facilitate an auction of the debtor’s business and ultimately achieve a full recovery - in excess of five million dollars - for his client.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Geoff is a loyal fan of the Browns, Cavs, and Guardians sports teams. He spends most of his free time with his children and wife. He exercises vigorously on a daily basis, doing strength training and cardiovascular workouts. He earned his black belt in Tang So Do martial arts and is currently training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. In addition to his bachelor’s and juris doctor degrees, he also received his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in bankruptcy from St. John’s University.
