Jim leads the firm’s commercial collections practice area, and is also the managing attorney for the firm’s Columbus office. Focusing exclusively on commercial accounts, he partners with banks and businesses both local and national in scale to offer comprehensive recovery strategies. This may include traditional agency-type collections, litigation, or arbitration.
An active member of the legal community, Jim serves as chair of the board of directors for First Service Federal Credit Union, an institution he has supported in a volunteer capacity for more than 15 years. As chair, he works to ensure the credit union follows all state and federal laws and regulations, and that proper policies, procedures, and controls are in place for both management and staff. He has also held leadership roles with the Commercial Law League of America (CLLA), most recently completing his term as Immediate Past President in May of 2024.
Jim grew up in a large family of eight – half of which are now attorneys! He is married with a son and a daughter, and enjoys his current status as an “empty nester.” Jim enjoys music, reading, cooking, and learning how to “fix things” around the house (after he breaks them).
