The
Cleveland Corporate Challenge is a fantastic event. Starting from the first event I participated in, I was hooked. Today, I am on a committee for Weltman that plans and coordinates our staff’s participation in events! This challenge allows people the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents that make them who they are outside of a workplace setting. It gives people the chance to be themselves – to have fun and to interact with each other in a way that is usually not available within work hours.
This event helps our firm develop more relationships and communication with people across different areas, something that is hard to achieve when sitting at an office desk. From the planning of who is going to participate in each event, to the actual events themselves, people from different departments are working together to not only plan, but win as well – I’m proud to say that Weltman is currently the three-time consecutive champion! This winning streak would not be possible without the collaboration and effort by everyone involved to put themselves out there and work together to achieve these results. Teamwork makes the dream work and the Cleveland Corporate Challenge certainly promotes and rewards that mentality!
Not only does this challenge provide a chance for employees to get to know each other better, but their families and friends as well. The challenge is an all-inclusive event which encourages those involved to invite their families, whether it be planning, participating in events, or cheering everyone on. The competition is awesome, but just as rewarding is the comradery gained by interacting with everyone, having a cookout, enjoying some sunshine and laughs, and getting to know people you see in the office five times a week, but have never had the chance to network with.
The challenge provides a setting for the development of trust, communication, and respect for your fellow employees and friends that is much easier to achieve when everyone is enjoying what they’re passionate about. The focus on teamwork and comradery is something that can benefit every company involved and I am glad that Weltman takes advantage of it every year!
