Weltman Shareholder James G. Kozelek Elected Recording Secretary for the Commercial Law League of America

Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA (Weltman), a full-service creditors' rights law firm now in its 89th year of client service, is pleased to announce that Shareholder James G. Kozelek has been elected to serve as the recording secretary for the Commercial Law League of America (CLLA).

The CLLA is a respected organization of attorneys and other experts in credit and finance actively engaged in the field of commercial law, bankruptcy, and insolvency. The CLLA’s core purpose is to be the leader in providing legal, educational, and professional services to the business and credit communities.

Serving a one year term in his role, Mr. Kozelek will be responsible for coordinating league meetings and maintaining records for the Board of Governors. The recording secretary also serves as a member of the league’s executive council, which determines league action between meetings of the board, and oversees the executive vice president and staff in the day-to-day operations. 

Mr. Kozelek has also served on the CLLA Board of Governors as a creditors’ rights section representative (2017-19), chair of the Midwest region (2014-15), and treasurer of the creditors' rights section (2009-10). He is also a member of the American Bar Association, Columbus Bar Association, and Ohio State Bar Association.

Mr. Kozelek is a shareholder and office managing attorney for the firm’s Columbus office. He leads the commercial collections practice area, and practices exclusively in commercial collections, commercial litigation, and arbitration. Partnering with banks and other businesses both local and national in scale, he offers comprehensive recovery strategies for his clients. Mr. Kozelek earned his J.D. cum laude and Order of the Curia from Capital University Law School, and his B.A. in English from The Ohio State University.
