Weltman Shareholder Jim Kozelek Elected as President-Elect of the Commercial Law League of America

Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA, a full-service creditors' rights law firm celebrating 90 years in business, is pleased to announce that shareholder Jim Kozelek has been elected as president-elect of the Commercial Law League of America (CLLA). He most recently served as the organization’s recording secretary from 2019-2021.

Founded in 1895, the CLLA is the nation’s oldest and most trusted legal association of attorneys actively practicing in the fields of commercial collections and bankruptcy.

“I am ecstatic for Jim to become president-elect of the CLLA,” said Timothy Wan, past-president of the CLLA. “With his unique attitude, patience, and thoughtfulness, he is an ideal choice to helm our organization into the future. I believe with all certainty that Jim will serve in the position with dignity and diligence.”

Jim is a shareholder and managing attorney for the firm’s Columbus office. He leads the commercial collections practice area, partnering with banks and other businesses from across the nation in need of comprehensive recovery strategies. Having held many leadership positions within the CLLA, including recording secretary (2019-2021), Creditor’s Rights Section representative to the Board of Governors (2017-19), treasurer of the Creditors' Rights Section (2015-16), and chair of the Midwest region (2014-15), Jim looks forward to this next step.

“I am honored to be elected as president-elect of the CLLA,” said Jim. “The CLLA is the preeminent creditors’ rights organization in our country, and I consider myself lucky to be associated with its outstanding members. I look forward to the leadership of incoming CLLA President Chris Young, as well as his mentorship and the mentorship of those who have served before me.”

Jim is also a member of the American Bar Association, Columbus Bar Association, and Ohio State Bar Association.
