Jim Kozelek has officially been elected as president of the
Commercial Law League of America (CLLA) on May 20, 2022. Founded in 1895, the CLLA is the nation’s oldest and most trusted legal association of attorneys actively practicing in the fields of commercial collections and bankruptcy.
When asked about this position shift, former CLLA president
Christopher S. Young said, “As president of the CLLA from 2021-22, I am thrilled to congratulate my colleague and friend Jim Kozelek on being elected as my successor and the new president. I know that Jim will do an exceptional job in this new position based on his outstanding experience and leadership skills. Congratulations, Jim!”
Jim is a shareholder and managing attorney for the firm’s Columbus office. He leads the commercial collections practice area, partnering with banks and other businesses from across the nation in need of comprehensive recovery strategies. Having held many leadership positions within the CLLA, including president-elect (2021-22), recording secretary (2019-21), Creditor’s Rights Section representative to the Board of Governors (2017-19), treasurer of the Creditors' Rights Section (2015-16), and chair of the Midwest region (2014-15), Jim looks forward to this next step.
When asked about this accomplishment, Jim said, “Being elected president of the CLLA is the greatest honor of my professional career. Having been involved in the league for close to 20 years, it is humbling to stand in the footsteps of so many giants in the industry. My greatest hope is to honor the mission of the league, to serve the industry, and to champion for this membership to the best of my ability.”
